Agricultural Technology Transfer Project (ATTP)
The primal goal of the project is to reduce poverty through transfer of appropriate agricultural technologies to poor, small, and medium farmers. The criteria of selection of such technologies are affordability, profitability, and sustainability. With assistance from Training and Technology Transfer (TTT), UDDIPAN has been implementing the program that included the technologies for lentil cultivation and fish culture in Sathia and Ishwardi upazila under Pabna district.
Objectives: Transfer technologies, which are profitable and sustainable (generated by the NARS/universities and others) and facilitate their wider dissemination to the farming and small business communities for poverty alleviation.
• Promote/Establish contract production through linking RPFs products with market channel for taking more benefit, which helps poverty alleviation.
• Capacity building of the small and medium farmers by cultivation process training and entrepreneurs through providing BDS training/market development approach (MDA).
• Establishment of demonstration plots and ponds to motivate to adopt new technologies that lead to increase income through additional and profitable production of lentil cultivation and fish sculture from the same unit of land and ponds.
• Create opportunity for self-employment of the poor farmers.
• Growing lentil cultivation and fish culture in their small farmyard will help to meet household necessity of the target members.
Major Activities:
The major activities of Agricultural Technology Transfer Project are:
• Farmers Training – Basic.
• Establishment of Demonstration Plots of lentil (BARI Mashur-4).
• Input Supply

• Field Days.
Impact:
(a) Family level: Farmers have learnt about lentil production as a relay crop technology through training and establishment of demonstration plot.
Community level: Lentil cultivation as a relay crop has created a significant positive impact among the neighboring farmers and they expressed their interest for such cultivation. Community people accepted this cultivation as a new and more profitable crop.
National level: The number of lentil cultivators and area under lentil cultivation are increasing steadily. As a result the total quantity of lentil production is increasing also.
