Special Assistance for Housing of SIDR Affected Borrowers (SAHOS)

The people of southern part of the country suffered immensely due to the super cyclone ‘SIDR’ that ravaged the areas in November 2007 & let many lives, livelihoods and assets destroyed. Houses of the downtrodden people had severely been destroyed. In order to assist the micro credit borrower for rebuilding or repairing their houses, the initiative of providing them interest free loan has been taken up. The duration of the project is for three years and this project is implemented in 21 upazilas of Barisal, Pirojpur, Jhalakathi, Bagerhat, Barguna and Patuakhali districts. Upto the reporting period an amount of Tk. 40.28 million was disbursed as interest free loan.
