Prevention and Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking in Bangladesh (PPVHT-B)
Project has the development objective to reduce human trafficking, keep protected the victims and potential victims of trafficking, bring the traffickers and perpetrators under tribunal and capacity building of Govt. and NGO network which will contribute to improve the human trafficking situation in Bangladesh. UDDIPAN has been selected as a potential organization to carry out its assignments in two traffic prone southern district of Bangladesh namely Barisal and Patuakhali. UDDIPAN is provided fund assistance by International Organization for Migration (IOM) to implement the project.
Duration & Coverage: The Project covers Patuakhali and Barisal districts with the duration from August 2007 to February 2010.
Objective:
The prime goal of the project is to improve human trafficking situation in Bangladesh, the project has the following major objectives:
• Prevention of Trafficking
• Protection of victims and potential victims
• Help prosecution of traffickers and perpetrators
• Capacity building of Govt. & NGO network
